COURSE DESCRIPTION:-This course is an introduction to topics in the business field.  Customer service, economics, computers, marketing, finance, are the topics that will be covered.  Students will also learn about saving, budgeting, investing, and play the     Stock Market Game.  Students use DECA and work in the Hot Spot as a means to gain experience.

 

GRADING

Grading scale is the same as in the student handbook

This is a general break down of points for each term.  Points may vary but will be very close to these categories.

DECA is a method of instruction used to help students learn marketing and management principles.  Students are required to participate in DECA to successfully complete the Marketing course.  A general outline for the course is attached.

 

 

Class Rules

  • Be on time with materials for class-pen, pencil, calculator, paper, homework, passwords, flash drive
  • Use class time effectively
  • Respect the rights and property of others-Behavior should be appropriate for a Business Setting
  • Follow instructions
  • Complete your own work unless it is a group assignment
  • Do not interrupt speakers-Instructor, students, guest speakers
  • Clean up your own messes
  • Attendance is required to successfully complete the course.  After 6 absences in the course, assignments must be completed in the classroom to receive full credit.  Make-up work is due within 1 week of the student’s absence.
