Reflection/Evidence of Learning Paper

Senior Project Reflection Essay

This reflection is due to your advocacy teacher and senior mentor by the first advocacy meeting after the project presentation day.

The purpose of this essay is to help you evaluate your project process and to express your thoughts and feelings about the experience. The essay should be 2-3 double-spaced pages (12-point Times New Roman or Arial font). Use MLA paper style for your name, date, etc. Your essay should include an introduction, body, and conclusion.

To guide your essay, consider using the following points as an outline for your body paragraphs:

  1. Explain what you did for your project. Include things like who your mentor was, who your outside authority was, how you accomplished your project, and what you learned overall.
  2. Explain how you used “21st-century skills" in the project (critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, information literacy, media literacy, technology literacy, flexibility, leadership, initiative, productivity, social skills). You do not need to include all of these skills, just 2-3 of the most important ones you used. Give SPECIFIC examples.
  3. Explain the challenges of the project. What made this a challenging project? Give SPECIFIC examples.
  4. Explain the successes of the project. Why was your project successful? Give SPECIFIC examples.
  5. Explain how the project helped you overall and/ or how it relates to life after high school. How will the work you accomplished help you or others in the future?
